Aargh! My computer died again. So I borrowed my daughter’s laptop and ran off to the coffee shop to write blog articles — and discovered that all the outlets on the wall here are fake. Why would they do that? Anyway, before the laptop battery dies, I want to share a couple of math links with you…

St. Jude’s Mathathon

One of our homeschool co-op members asked about raising money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Students in grades K-8 take sponsor pledges for working math problems, which they then complete either in a workbook or on the computer. It sounds like a great way to teach our kids to “love the Lord your God with all your mind” by showing love to others.

World Maths Day

On March 5, students from around the world will play online, real-time mental math games. Registration (free) is open now for students aged 5-18. It looks like a lot of fun!

This math site not only offers math games for fun, it also goes in depth into many math topics.
